Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Information we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. Specifically:
- Information you give us. When you subscribe, you provide your email address. You may also contact us by email, in which case we receive whatever you send.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and email providers automatically log limited technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, and the dates and times of access. Our email provider also records standard engagement metrics such as whether an email was opened or a link was clicked.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we do not ask for payment information (NewsBrewer is free).
How we use your information
- To send you the NewsBrewer newsletter and related service messages.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and the newsletter.
- To understand engagement in aggregate (for example, overall open rates) so we can make the product better.
- To respond to your inquiries and comply with legal obligations.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate NewsBrewer, and only as needed to provide the service:
- Beehiiv — our email platform, which stores subscriber email addresses and delivers the newsletter.
- Vercel — our website host and infrastructure provider.
- Google Analytics — website traffic measurement (see Cookies below).
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of NewsBrewer, our users, or others.
Cookies and analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site — for example, which pages are viewed and general traffic patterns. Google Analytics sets cookies and may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited; this data is processed by Google in accordance with its own policies. We use this only in aggregate to improve NewsBrewer.
We do not use advertising or cross-site ad-targeting cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all sites by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe anytime. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-out requests promptly.
- Access, correction, and deletion. Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, email us at the address below.
- Do Not Sell. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect.
Data retention
We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward for recordkeeping and legal compliance. You can request deletion at any time.
Security
We use reputable providers and reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
NewsBrewer is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International users
NewsBrewer is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., you understand your information may be processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and material changes may be communicated through the newsletter or the Site.
